Department / Location- DSS Software Logistics Center (DSS SLC), SLI (Bangalore)
Department Description- Development System Services (DSS) is responsible for the planning, setup and operation of SAP's internal application development landscapes.
The Software Logistics Center (SLC) of DSS provides excellent Software Logistics Services for SAP internal development landscapes:- Consulting for all kind of Software Logistics related topics- Planning, Configuration & Operation of Infrastructure for Software Production- Delivery of ABAP & JAVA Software to SAP's internal development - maintenance and quality systems- Transport Layer Configuration in Development Landscapes & Administration
Required Skills- Minimum 1 year of experience in SAP BASIS- Experience in SAP Netweaver & SAP J2EE Administration- Expertise in Change & Transport Management- Familiar with R/3 System Upgrades & Kernel Upgrades- Familiar with Landscapes Administration & Transport Activities- BASIS Expertise – User Management, Background Job Processing, Client Administration, Support Packs, etc- Exposure to scripting (SHELL/PERL)- Exposure to OS & DB Administration will be an added advantage- ABAP/JAVA Programming Skills would be a plus- Operating Systems - Windows & UNIX- Databases – ORACLE, MS SQL, etc

System Landscape Administration & Maintenance- Transport Configuration & Support- R/3 Upgrades,
Kernel Upgrades & Imports- SAP J2EE Application Server Installation & Upgrades- SAP J2EE Application Server Administration- Power user of team specific tools- Troubleshooting & problem solving required- Accept rotating responsibility for team support tasks- Participate in team planning & process definition- Participate in documentation & support activities/tasks- Willing to be mentored and to mentor other team members- Should demonstrate continuous learning abilities for new projects & tasks within the group- Should be sensitive towards customers, ongoing activities, project priorities, etc- Should show good level of interaction with teams across the globe
Soft Skills required- Good understanding of the software development life cycle.- Good performer, ability to deliver on time and ensure quality.- Commitment to team-based development is a must.- Strong customer and quality focus.- Must demonstrate curiosity & initiatives about new technologies and tools, and the ability to learn independently- Willing to be mentored and to mentor other team members- Should be a good team player & individual contributor- Excellent interpersonal & soft skills- Excellent communication & presentation skills- Fluency in English
QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer/Electronics), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
